New works 2017–2018: sculpture

Urge, the title of these belly sculptures, speaks of primal movement prior to intention. The distillation of form enhances interiority. The title also refers to the worlds first author, Enheduanna, who sang of Inanna, a prominent Sumerian deity. Enheduanna’s urge to communicate, also primal, is embodied through Inanna who epitomized desire and the energizing force that animates creation.

The newer sculptures grow out of related interest in the continuum of interior and exterior of bodies. Including a revisiting of multiplying bodies in Red Chimera.
